The James E Pepper brand goes back as far as 1776, and it is only very recently that it was reinvigorated by the Georgetown Trading Co., a company which also dates back to around the American Revolution. This excellent rye whiskey is, like many of the best ryes on the market today, made from a mash bill with more than 90% rye. A vibrant and full-bodied rye with a good bit of fruitiness and a spicy kick.
