The James E Pepper bourbon is distilled from a mash bill with at least 38% rye, which is quite unusual, to say the least. Due to this very high proportion of rye, it should come as no surprise that this is a bourbon whiskey with lots and lots of rye spice. Bottled at a very respectable proof of 100 (50% ABV) without chillfiltration, this is certainly a whisky packed full of interesting flavours and aromas.
