A Spanish Absinthe made with grand wormwood.
This has a vivid green hue, and contains small amounts of thujone, the chemical which was originally blamed for the supposed psychedelic effects of this spirit (this theory has now been largely discounted – indeed, properly made Absinthe has no more intoxicating effect than any other alcohol).
The spirit offers flavours of bittersweet wormwood, anise, chopped herbs, earthy spice, and mint.
Bottled at a hefty 70% ABV, this is best enjoyed diluted with ice cold water.
Delicious stuff, from a nation not usually associated with Absinthe.
