The fifth instalment in Jack Daniel’s excellent Master Distillers series, which is created to celebrate the achievements of the famous distillery’s Master Distlilers.
This bottle is created for Frank Bobo, one of the most important people in the history of the distillery. It was Frank Bobo who oversaw the period of massive success and expansion for the distillery in the 1970s and 1980s. In this time Bobo did not make enough whiskey to keep up with the extraordinary demand, with his concentration on making every single drop as good as it could be. Indeed, he said “I”d rather ask for folks’ patience than their forgiveness”.
The whiskey itself is spicy and slightly dry, with a light body and a little barrel char influence. Drinkers should expect rich notes of caramel, overripe bananas, and vanilla custard, with some nutmeg and cinnamon spice.
Bottled at 43% ABV, this gives the flavours a real boost.
A wonderful tribute to possibly the most important distiller in the history of Tennessee whiskey.
