A herbal liqueur from the Basque country.
A higher proof version of the Izarra Vert (Green) bottling, this liqueur is based upon Armagnac, and uses a blend of different spices and herbs, including cinnamon, nutmeg, thyme, anise, peppermint, almond, walnut, angelica and coriander.
The result is a refreshingly herbaceous liqueur, with notes of fresh mint, cut grass, anise, rooty spice, celery salt, roasted thyme, waxy nuts, cloves and peppermint gum.
A little more complex than its crème de menthe cousins, and powerful at 54% ABV. This stuff is tasty served over ice after a meal, this also does well when mixed with gin.
