The Ian Macleod company continues to impress with their excellent bottlings and blends, and this is no exception. A tremendous blended Scotch, made up of a high-quality selection of Speyside and Island whiskies, with plenty coming from Talisker (currently Skye’s only producing distillery). The result is a wonderfully well balanced whisky, which marries notes of gentle grain whisky alongside honey-laden Speysides and spicy, peppery Island drams. A good smokiness throughout, with a lovely sherry character and oily coastal note, 12 years in oak casks has ensured this whisky has a great maturity. his is another of those lesser-known, but excellent value blends on the market.
