The High West Double Rye! takes it name from a straight forward fact... It’s a blend of 2 straight rye whiskies. Simple enough. However, these two rye whiskies are about as different as anything can be.
One is a 2 year old rye from a mashbill of 95% rye, and 5% barley malt, sourced from MGP. The other is a 16 year old “barely legal” rye, from a mashbill of 53% rye, and 37% corn, sourced from the Barton distillery.
The young and feisty 2 year old greatly compliments the smooth 16 year old, resulting in a whiskey that is bold and complex. It’s perfect for cocktails such as a Manhattan, but it’s also incredibly delicious on its own.
