Cherry Heering has been the premiere Cherry Liqueur for over 200 years, having been created by Copenhagen resident Peter Heering in 1818.
Peter Heering was a grocer who began to sell cherry liqueur, produced to a recipe given to him by his old boss’s wife, Mrs Cartensen.
The liqueur is produced using Danish cherries which are crushed including the stone, which provides the final product with a nutty character. The liqueur is then flavoured with spices, and matured for three years in oak casks, producing a well-rounded, fruity spirit.
A vital ingredient in classic cocktails such as the Singapore Sling and the Blood and Sand, this is a must-have for all bars and budding home bartenders.
