Evan Williams is said to be one of the earliest Bourbon brands created, dating back to the late 18th century when the eponymous Evan Williams, a Welsh migrant, settled in Kentucky and established one of the first distilleries. Aged in New American Oak casks, this is a classic Bourbon, serving up flavours of raisins, vanilla, orange rind, bright oak and baking spices.

Elijah Craig Small Batch is one of the longstanding favourites of the Bourbon drinking community, bottled at 47% ABV (or 94 US Proof), this is an assertive and rich dram. Elijah Craig is also named after an early distiller – who is said to have invented Bourbon by being the first to age spirit in charred oak casks. This whiskey is a fitting tribute, packed with flavours of caramelised apple, floral honey, spice and charred oak.

The final dram in the selection is Larceny, a highly regarded wheated Bourbon – meaning that wheat replaces rye as the “small grain”, ensuring a chewy and sweet, rather than spicy, profile. Larceny is bottled at 46% ABV and offers flavours of caramel, figs, old oak, boiled candy and beeswax.
