A celebration of Cuban culture, this is a “Union” of two of the nation’s most famous industries, rum-making and cigar rolling.
This rum was created through a partnership between Rum Maestro Absel Morales, and world-renowned Cuban cigar sommelier Fernando Fernández. Some extremely old casks of rum were used in this bottling, designed to match up to the strength and power of the Cohiba Siglo VI, one of the most intense cigars on the market.
This rum is rich in vanilla, chocolate and old oak flavours, with a little aromatic potpourri, preserved citrus and tropical fruits, milky coconut and cinnamon spice. The palate is oily and mouth-coating.
Finally, this rum is bottled and presented beautifully, featuring the Cohibo label on metallic plaques on both bottle and handsome, slide open gift box. A very happy union indeed!
Yeah. Do it. My wife and I recently went on holiday to Cancun, where I had a FAT pour of this and a cigar every evening. Absolute luxury. When it comes to cigar/drink pairings, I rarely deviate from Scotch but this rum is absolutely divine with a cigar. If you are considering this one, don't hesitate for a second.
