An excellent Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port from Graham’s from the 2013 vintage.
The grapes for this wine were largely sourced from the Quinta dos Malvedos and Quinta do Tua properties in Graham’s stable. The specific vineyards in the two Quintas were selected for this bottling by Alexandre Mariz, the estate manage of these Quintas, Henry Shotton, the Malvedos winemaker, and Charles Symington, the head winemaker of Graham’s Port.
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela and old vine grapes from Quinta do Tua and Quinta dos Malvedos were used. Grapes from old vines from the Quinta de Vila Velha and Quinta do Vale de Malhadas were also used. The grapes were trodden in the lagares at the Malvedos winery.
The wine was matured for five years and bottled in 2018, giving it a phenomenal depth and complexity. This Port offers up flavours of deep red fruits, grapes, blackberry, polished wood, eucalyptus and slight mint, dark chocolate and black tea.
The Port is bottled at 20% ABV, with an acidity of 4.29 g/L (tartaric acid) and a Baumé scale of 3.7º.
A truly delicious Port, this pairs perfectly with dark chocolates, creamy desserts or hard cheeses such as Cheddar, Comte or Manchego.
