It’s Glenfiddich, but not as we know it! This is the second expression in the famous Speyside distillery’s experimental range following on from the release of their well-received IPA Cask.
This dram has been created by Glenfiddich’s Malt Master, Brian Kinsman, has taken a parcel of peated whisky, and finished it in former “Latin Rum” (from South America rather than the Caribbean) casks for 3 months.
The rum has rounded out the fiery peat nicely, heightening the naturally sweet and fruity flavours of Glenfiddich’s spirit. Drinkers can expect notes of smoked, caramelized apples, sweet peat, flowers, salted caramel, burnt oak, ginger, citrus rind and hot, smoked malt.
Bottled at 43% ABV for a touch more body and intensity, this a surprising and delicious offering from Glenfiddich.
