Another bottling of rarely seen single malt from Diageo’s Flora and Fauna series.
Glen Spey distillery is found in the town of Rothes, in the Speyside region. The distillery produces a lighter style of spirit, making use of a purifier pipe. There is a gristiness to the new make, and the whisky has largely been used in the J&B blends.
This 12 year old illustrates the light character of Glen Spey’s spirit perfectly, offering notes of grassy malt, beeswax, honey, apple cider, pears, almond, gentle oak, hazelnut, and a touch of nutmeg spice.
A classic Speyside profile – well rounded, slightly sweet, and malty.
