A powerful absinthe from Swiss distillers Duplais, first launched in July 2005 after the ban on absinthe production was lifted.
This company takes their name from P. Duplais, a 19th Century distiller who wrote an important manual on distillation titled 'Traité des Liqueurs et de la Distillation des Alcools'. This absinthe is based upon a recipe from this text.
This absinthe is produced using botanicals sourced from a plantation which cultivates herbs of the very highest quality. The head distiller, Oliver Matter has created a fragrant and delicious absinthe, naturally coloured by the herbs.
This absinthe has a clean, herbal flavour with a powerful bittersweet wormwood note, and touches of earthy roots, cut grass, liqourice, some slight flowers and a touch of peppery spice.
Bottled at a huge 68% ABV, this is best enjoyed louched with iced water.
