Dodd’s Gin is a tremendous bottling from London Distillery, which is based in Bermondsey. This was the first whisky distillery to be founded in London since Lea Valley distillery closed its doors over 100 years ago. The gin takes its name from Ralph Dodd, an eccentric Victorian who was the first man to attempt to tunnel under the river Thames. The distillery uses organic ingredients, putting the hardier botanicals into Christina (a traditional copper pot still), whilst the lighter, delicate botanicals go into the much smaller cold, vacuum distillation. Each gin is seasonal, and small batch, meaning outturns are quite limited and drinkers should move whilst they have the chance. This gin is bottled at a feisty 49.9% ABV.
