A very interesting addition to Del Maguey’s burgeoning range of superb Mezcals and spirits. This Crema de Mezcal is a fine blend of Miel de Maguey, an unfermented syrup of the roast agave, and San Luis del Rio Mezcal. The Mezcal used is double distilled from Espadin agave which has been allowed to reach full maturity (between 6—8 years old) before harvest. The spirit is double distilled in the traditional manner, using old fashioned horse and wheel milling, and copper stills. The Miel is produced by pressing the agave (that has been roasted for 5 days over local Mezquite, Quebrachi and Humuchil woods in clay ovens), producing a sweet honey. The Crema is 90% Mezcal with 10% honey, creating a sweet and quaffable liqueur of 40% ABV. This is ideal for drinking over ice on a hot day, or can be quickly transformed in to a Mezcal Tommy’s Margarita with merely the addition of fresh lime juice.
