A flavoursome cherry liqueur produced by the Dutch fruit liqueur masters, De Kuyper. De Kuyper have been operating since 1695, and are one of the oldest distilling companies in the world.
This clear bottling is made with Marasca cherries and a small amount of rose petals for added flavour and complexity. The pits of the cherries are also crushed, giving a slight almond flavour to the liqueur.
The result is a somewhat nutty, bittersweet and floral liqueur, with a powerful fruity flavour.
This bottling is obviously excellent for adding a strong cherry flavour to cocktails, and De Kuyper’s suggest serving as in a Razor Blade: a mix of 1 part of Marasquin with 2 parts of gin and 1 part of lemon juice, and a touch of sugar.
