Another of these popular Distillers Edition releases from Cragganmore. This is the 2018 release.

This bottling has been distilled in 2005, and bottled in 2018, having been finished Port casks for the final part of its maturation.

The result is a bright, fresh whisky, that offers up notes of apple, orange rind, sweet raspberries, cherries, plums, prunes, a light oak flavour, toffee, grassy malt and some tropical touches of melon, banana and pineapple. A light touch of gentle peat smoke too.

Not dominated by Port, there is still plenty of American oak character to be found with this whisky.

A nice twist on one of Diageo’s “Classic Malts”.
