A monster bottling of Corner Creek Bourbon from Bardstown, Kentucky, weighing in at a mighty 1.75 litres.
Produced using corn, wheat and rye, this is a well balanced and satisfying Bourbon. As ever with Bourbon, this whiskey has been aged in new American oak casks. The bottling is produced in small batches, and is said to be around 8 years old.
The result is a robustly flavoured American whiskey, rich in sweet corn and wheat notes, with some spicy rye flavours of cinnamon and clove, and thick, sweet oaky vanilla. A little grassy cereal appears, accompanied by apples, pears, barrel char and caramel.
Bottled at 44% ABV, this is a warming, old-fashioned Bourbon you can’t help but like.
Each bottle comes with an old-timey label designed by William Nagle.
