This beautiful bottle is produced by Douglas Casimir Distillery in Haiti.
A 2018 vintage, the spirit is made in the village of Barraderes, and uses a traditional style of sugar cane named “Hawaii”. The cane is fermented with wild yeasts, and distilled in a traditional pot still.
The final product is a thoroughly unique rum, with notes of bitter almond, lime, tropical fruits, green fruits, funky bananas, cinnamon and fresh yeasty bread.
Another fascinating and impressive rum from Clairin, this is definitely one for the real rum aficionados.
