A tremendous gin produced by the ancient Schiedam distillery in the Netherlands, perhaps longest running family owned distillery in Holland. The distillery is renowned for its attention to detail, careful craftsmanship and traditional methods. The distillery has not changed much in over 225 years of production, continuing to use old-fashioned small copper pot stills to produce their marvelous spirit. Fittingly then, this is the revival of an old brand: as illustrated by the coloured glass, genever-style bottle. This lovely drop is made using fresh citrus and a blend of “special botanicals”. The gin is bright and fresh, with a nice tea note, perfect for cocktails or drinking in a Gin and Tonic. Bottled at the warming strength of 48.2% ABV, the proof means the gin is never lost, even in the most complex of cocktails. Declared a “Gin Master” by the 2017 Gin Masters Awards, this is not one that any gin fan should miss out on.
Long time gin drinker. Had a very dry martini (stirred not shaken as I usually have) at the Moevenpick hotel bar. Best gin I've tasted, complex favors without overpowering alcohol. Now having it shipped to U.S.!
