Burrito Fiestero, or BF as it is popularly known in bars, has perhaps the best bottle design we have seen at Fine Drams. The design was a deliberate choice by the company to reflect the colour, celebrations and traditions of Durango State, Mexico. This traditional Mezcal is 100% handcrafted by Maestro Arturo Conde, out of nothing but the best quality of Cenizo agave. Cenizo agave takes between 10–13 years to mature, and the cultivation is a different, slow process. There are few roads in Durango, and the agave must be transported by mule or donkey out of the mountains The Mezcal is also sustainably produced, planting 10 new agave plants for every one they use. Fair trade with the farmers and distillers who make the drink possible is also a fundamental cornerstone of the distillery’s beliefs. The Mezcal is double distilled in pot stills, to create a superb spirit with a thick mouthfeel. The final product is definitely worth the hard work, being floral, slightly earthy, smokey and intense, with a long peppery finish. Perfect for slow sipping by itself, or for drinking in cocktails.
