Ever heard of a Cognac Single Malt? Well now you have! This fascinating whisky is made with barley grown entirely in the famous spirit-making area, where it is also distilled.
Each bottle is drawn from a single cask, having been aged initially in Limousin oak casks, before a further maturation in former Cognac casks. This aging process has given the whisky dense spice notes from the Limousin, with strong dusty oak flavours. The Cognac cask lends notes of dried fruit, sweet grapes, vanilla, flowers and apples.
An interesting, alternative taste of Cognac, that will appeal to brandy and single malt fans alike.
