A classic Italian Amaro first created by botanist Dottore Francesco Peloni in the mountainous area of Bormio, Lombardy. The liqueur takes its name from a mountain found close to the town.
The exact recipe of this liqueur is a carefully guarded family secret, but we do know it contains botanicals including: gentian, juniper, peppermint, star anise, wormwood, bitter orange and yarrow The majority of the herbs and spices used are picked locally.
The botanicals are infused with alcohol and then matured for two years in Slavonian oak, ensuring a fully integrated and complex profile.
The result is a vividly herbal liqueur with notes of rooty herbs, liquorice, dried fruits, berries, cloves, cola, slight coffee and bitter chocolate.
Often enjoyed après-ski, this liqueur is best drunk neat.
