Another incredible release of always popular cask strength whiskey from Jim Beam. These bottles of straight from the barrel Bourbon were originally hand selected by Booker Noe (Jim Beam’s grandson and a legendary distiller in the company’s history) for his closest friends and family. Eventually the decision in 1988 was made to start to sell this fabulous spirit to the wider public, much to the delight of Bourbon fans across the world. Booker’s is the original small batch bourbon. This particular batch enjoyed 6 years and one month of maturation in new American White Oak barrels, before being bottled at a hefty cask strength of 62.7% ABV. The whisky has a mash-bill of 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% barley, making for a perfect balance of flavour. Traditionally, barrels for this bottling are drawn from only the very finest casks in the warehouses, from the centre, which produces the most intensely flavoursome Bourbon. This is a fantastic example of how good Bourbon can be, with beautiful notes of menthol, cherry, caramel, vanilla and oak. The whiskey is non-chillfiltered and natural in colour, meaning this is as close to the original bottles that Booker Noe created as possible. Each batch is highly limited, so Bourbon drinkers should buy now to avoid disappointment!
