First created in 1845, this gin underwent a revamp under new ownership in 2013. The gin is named after the Boodles Gentleman’s Club, found in Pall Mall, and widely considered to be one of the world’s most exclusive and prestigious establishments. Former members include William Wilberforce, Adam Smith, Ian Fleming and Winston Churchill. No doubt Boodle’s gin was a favourite of the latter’s, with Churchill enjoying many a dry martini at the Club. Boodle’s gin is made with very interesting botanicals indeed, including rosemary, sage and nutmeg, alongside caraway seeds and cinnamon. Most notable about this gin is that it forgoes any citrus fruit at all. This means the gin is spicy, earthy and fully flavoured, without any bitterness or sharp notes. A smooth sipping gin, which is perfect for enjoying in your preferred exclusive club… or perhaps just your home!
