A delectable gin from the Channel Isle of Guernsey, produced by Three Fingers distillery. The distillery describes the gin as “the epitome of boutique gin”.
The head distiller, Matt Polli, had previously worked on a research project for the University of Cambridge, where he studied flies under microscopes. During this time, he was enrapt by the intricate beauty and detail of the flies, which was normally overlooked. It is to this epiphany that the gin’s name and tagline (“Look for Beauty Everywhere”) refers.
This gin has classic Dry profile, made with botanicals of juniper, cubeb, nutmeg, pepper and locally foraged gorse. The gin is produced in a small, 500 litre Arnold Holstein pot still.
Blue Bottle offers drying notes of bittersweet juniper, slight piney-ness, flowers, peppery spice, some earthier root-like notes and a touch of nutmeg sweetness.
The gin is bottled at 47% ABV for a stronger, more intensely flavoured spirit.
Beautifully presented in its blue glass bottle, this makes a terrific gin and tonic.
