Blair Athol is a central Highland distillery that is known for its deep, malty flavour, on display with this excellent bottling from Signatory Vintage.
This dram has been aged for 12 years, including a finishing period in (if the colour is anything to go by) a particularly active sherry cask.
The result is a whisky that offers up flavours of dried fruit, raisins, plums, cherries, black tea, cola cubes, dark chocolate, prunes, vanilla, oak spice and weighty malt.
An excellent Signatory selection, just 662 bottles were produced.
