A testament to the ingenuity and technical brilliance that exists in the spirits industry.
Berry Bros & Rudd are famed for their superb wines and spirits. They have previously created the fantastic No. 3 Gin, which takes its name from their address: 3 St. James’s Street, London.
This BBR Dry gin however, was discontinued sometime in the mid-20th century. Recently a bottle from the 1950s was rediscovered, and using a crack team of master distillers, headed by gin luminary Charles Maxwell, Berry Bro’s managed to create this classic gin from a single vial of spirit.
The result is a simple, old-fashioned gin, a far-cry from the current offerings with huge lists of ingredients. The gin is made with juniper, coriander, angelica and winter savoury.
Overall, this is a dry, juniper-led gin with a good menthol bite and a little herbaceous note.
Perfect for those delicate gin cocktails of a by-gone age.
