A beautiful VSOP from the storied Baron Otard company, this bottling steps up the quality of the (already very good) VS offering.
First established in 1795 by the Baron himself, his family had been maturing eau-de-vieux since the 1760s.
Baron Otard continues to age their spirit in the original 11th century Chateau that belonged to Jean-Baptiste Otard – the only Royal Chateau in Cognac, which narrowly avoided destruction during the French Revolution. The cool, dry cellars of the castle are ideal for the maturation of quality Cognac.
This bottling contains a blend of spirits aged in strictly Limousin French oak casks for a minimum of four years. This maturation gives the Cognac a lovely complexity, with a great balance between the fruity spirit and the oaky cask.
This bottling has all the freshness and fruitiness of the VS, buts adds a layer of depth with flavours of woodspice, oaky vanilla and fragrant tobacco.
A very classy offering from this marvelous company, the spirit is beautifully presented in the teardrop bottle.
Excelent for the money
