A fabulous Port-finished whisky from the prestigious Speyside distillery, Balvenie. First released in 1996, this whisky has been popular ever since, picking up fans, plaudits and awards across the years.
This whisky takes fine old Balvenie single malt, and transfers it to 30 year old Port pipes for a finishing period, granting this spirit fabulous complexity and depth of flavour. Drinkers should expect a whisky of perfect balance, with notes of red fruit, spice, honey, slight nuttiness and tinned white peaches. This is a delicate and sophisticated dram that rewards patient drinking.
A testament to the masterful craft of Balvenie’s stalwart Malt Master David Stewart MBE, many drinkers consider this dram to be amongst the finest that he, and the distillery, have produced. Balvenie Portwood 21 Year Old is a rare delight.
This dram picked up gold medals in the 2014 and 2015 Scotch Whisky Masters, run by the Spirits Business magazine.
