A lovely sherried dram from the rarely seen Allt-á-Bhainne malt whisky distillery, bottled by Signatory Vintage.
This dram was distilled in July 2000, and bottled in February 2021, having been aged for 20 years in Hogsheads, with 6 month period in what appears to be have been a very fresh sherry butt.
The result is a richly flavoured single malt, with notes of malty biscuits, plums, toasted almond, drying oak, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, some fresh cherries, plums, chocolate fudge, creamy honey and vanilla.
Despite the short finishing period, this is a veritable sherry bomb. Bottled at 52.6%, and without chill filtration, the whisky has a full body and flavour profile.
Just 701 bottles were produced.
