A super premium vodka from Swedish producer, Absolut.
This bottling starts with high quality winter wheat grown at the Råbelöf estate in southern Sweden. Råbelöf is perfectly placed for the growth of wheat, with the estate situated in a microclimate which enjoys dry, cold winters, and long warm summers. Indeed, the location has been used to cultivate wheat since at least the 15th century.
Following the mashing and fermentation, the spirit is distilled using a copper column still dating back to 1921. During distillation, Absolut use thousands of copper packets to remove impurities, which is a costly practice, but produces a very pure final product. The still continues to be hand operated in the traditional fashion.
The final result is an incredibly soft and silky vodka, that serves up subtle notes of bready wheat, gentle spice, vanilla, caramel and slight malt. Despite these complexities, this remains an exceedingly pure vodka.
Elyx is presented in a handsome decanter style bottle created by esteemed London designers Stranger and Stranger (the same folk behind Compass Box’s visionary labels). The bottle is made from 40% recycled glass, and emphasises the importance of copper in the creation of this vodka.
