Following an initial maturation in classic American oak ex-bourbon casks, this whisky is then “finished” in dark rum barrels, sourced from the Caribbean island, Jamaica. This finish imparts many notes specific to the rum barrel, in particular, a distinct sweetness which is characterized by sweet sugar molasses.
